Helpful Tips, Audio Surveillance & Other Security Solutions

After working in the security field for well over a decade I have some useful knowledge and helpful tips regarding home & business security systems. I want to help inform people on the basic guidelines and main aspects in security. First: Security systems are a great way of protection, but if you don’t know what to look for or how to properly use them, it can be a waste of money. Having a surveillance system installed is a great way to keep 24hr surveillance over your valuables. There are many great features offered from a security system, one very important feature is a Point of Sale (POS). Having a POS installed will help a business owner keep better track of money coming in and out. This process is when a security provider integrates your camera system with your cash registers, giving the owner or management viewing access of every item rang in. It allows viewing of price checks, items purchased, amount changed, and change received. This type of solution can save a business thousands of dollars on employee theft or simply giving back wrong amounts of change.

Second: Another great way to help make life easier is having a surveillance system recording off motion. Motion recording allow cameras to record off movement. When one of the cameras detects movement it will then begin recording for a certain amount of time until all object are still. This will help when playing back data and help keep more open space for storing memory.

Third:  A surveillance system is a sure form of protection; but not very many cameras come with audio. Some businesses may benefit more from hearing employees. Having a microphone installed will allow an owner to not only view employees/customers, but to also hear the interaction. A microphone is installed; it takes the audio and directly stores everything being said to the DVR with the live recording video.
